​​KRD is a world class professional modern dance touring company based in Aurora, Colorado in the Aurora Cultural Arts Disitrct. KRD performs throughout the Denver Metro area as well as in national and international venues, presenting dynamic and innovative modern dance choreography by Founder/Artistic Director/Choreographer Kim Robards.
We are in our 30th Season of providing high quality programming which represents artistic achievement, organizational integrity and educational excellence.
Founded in 1987 as Colorado Repertory Dance Company, the organization changed it's name in 1998 to reflect the driving force behind the Company's artistic and educational vision, Founder/Artistic Director/ Choreographer Kim Robards.
KRD is critically acclaimed for its high artistic standards consistently met by Artistic Director Kim Robards as she creates new, quality dance works. Over the course of our history, KRD and our Artistic Director have numerous accomplishments, including both the Governor's and Mayor's Award for Excellence in the Arts and funding from The National Endoement for the Arts, among many others.
Nationally KRD has an ever expanding presence which continues to grow. KRD has been represented by the nation's top booking agencies for dance including Pentacle and Jodi Kaplan and Associates National Boutique Roster, both based in New York.
KRD was selected to be presented at Joyce SoHo for the "InBound" Series. Internationally KRD was one of only two US companies to be selected to perform at the "booking DANCE FESTIVAL beijing" in China coinciding with the Olympics in 2008. Other international work includes Ms. Robards' appearance in 2009 at Venue 150 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Recognition outside of Colorado provides KRD the opportunity to represent the best in dance that Colorado has to offer.
