Kim Robards Dance (KRD) energizes and entices audiences with the driving physicality and broad dynamic range of the beautifully crafted choreography of Artistic Director Kim Robards. Artistic athleticism stretches dancers' bodies to the outer limit of physical stamina while stretching audiences' perceptions of modern dance from artistic to athletic. Fascinating spatial explorations of toned bodies are trumped only by the surprising strength of this ten member company. Based in Denver and establishing Charlotte, North Carolina as a second home, KRD is a leader in contemporary dance in the American west with its sophisticated yet accessible modern style which bridges the gap between ballet and modern dance. Experimenting with dynamic force and momentum, Ms. Robards' work takes an aesthetic journey through movement landscapes covering vast amounts of space.

Kim Robards Dance is excited to share wonderful news that as a result of the success of KRD's recent Joyce SoHo performances in New York and the resulting outstanding New York Times review, Artistic Director Kim Robards and her company have been invited to represent the best of their genre before the best in the world in Beijing in August 2008 during the first annual “booking DANCE FESTIVAL 2008 beijing - coinciding with the Olympics.” KRD will serve as a cultural attaché for the US as well as Colorado during this once in a lifetime cultural exchange. Subsequent to the invitation to perform in Beijing for the dance festival from August 10-19, KRD has received an exclusive invitation from China 's Gateway to Music program to be presented in full evening concerts featuring Kim Robards Dance throughout China in the summer of 2009.
